Montanus, meaning 'in the mountains', is a newly built home on the Clarens Golf and Trout Estate in the picturesque town of Clarens. A popular tourist getaway destination, Clarens is the ideal town in which to relax over a weekend, or longer, depending on how much time you have at your disposal. Montanus is a modern, luxurious home offering such relaxation.

ACCOMMODATION

Montanus is an up-market home with all the essential elements for a comfortable stay. The house sleeps 8, in 4 beautifully appointed, spacious bedrooms, each on a different level. Three rooms have double beds and the fourth bedroom has twin beds. Each bedroom is en-suite, with both shower and bath. Large built in cupboards and a dressing table completes each room. All towels and linen are provided.

LIVING AREA

An open plan living area of lounge, dining room and conversation nook, is spacious and beautifully furnished. A fire place, essential for Clarens winters and cold evenings is situated in this area. Leading out from two sliding doors, an outdoor patio complete with outdoor furniture and a built in braai, lends itself to unending views over Clarens, the surrounding Rooiberg, and the distant Maluti Mountains of Lesotho. There is also full complement of DSTV channels provided together with a large flat screen TV for all the guests to enjoy.

The kitchen overlooks the living area, and is fully self catering with granite counters, under-counter oven, glass top hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, and other appliances. From the kitchen, there is a scullery complete with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, and wash-up area.

GOLF

Recently, the original 9-hole golf course has been developed and upgraded to an 18-hole course by developers, Pinnacle Point.  The par 72 golf course, has been designed and constructed by Golf Data. All 18 holes meander along and across the tranquil river and its splendid series of trout dams and cascading waterfalls. The new Club House is well appointed and offers wonderful mountain views.

ACTIVITIES

Visitors to Clarens have a variety of activities to choose from and they include, white water rafting, horse riding, quad biking, hiking, tennis, squash, trout fishing, art courses, golf, abseiling, mountain trails and nature reserves which also have some bushman paintings. Enquiries for all these activities can be made at the local information centres in Clarens. In the winter, Montanus will provide uninterrupted views of the snow-covered mountains.
