Description

The Buffalo Hills Private Game Reserve offers self-catering accommodation approximately 30 km south of Harrismith near Sterkfontein Dam. Centrally situated this venue is ideal for Family and Friend Gatherings. With Game Viewing, Birding, Bass Fishing, Mountain Hiking, Mountain Biking and Scenic self drives you are ensured of a wonderful outing.
A large variety of Game such as the African Buffalo, Sable, Roan, Eland, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Grey Rhebok, Mountain Reedbuck, Common Reedbuck, Zebra, Ostrich, Lechwe, Waterbuck and Blesbuck are seen on the reserve. The secretive Pangolin, Red Rabbit, Caracal, Aardvark, Serval, Jackal, African Wild Cat and Brown Hyena are also sometimes seen.
Accommodation is offered in two separate establishments 2km apart.

 

Buffalo Hills Mountain Lodge (10 People sharing):

 

A Bush Camp Style Lodge, built from rugged sandstone and thatch grass, is nestled against the Historic Kerkenberg Mountain's majestic rock face. At 1860 m you are ensured of breathtaking panoramic views and a natural biodiversity unique to the Drakensberg Range. Accommodation is offered in 4 separate chalets and a granny flatlet attached to the central kitchen, dining and lounge area with a cosy fireplace. The clean mountain air and softly echoing night sounds form part of the therapy for a good night's sleep.

Beauchef Farm House (10 People Sharing):

 

This comfortable farmhouse and cottage offer guests a peaceful outdoor experience within the Buffalo Hills Game Reserve. It has a fully equipped kitchen, an enclosed veranda with a gas braai and an outside lapa for wood braais.
